Pickle Face
Where, oh where have I been?? I know, I keep saying how delinquent I have been, but seriously this is getting to be too much! Eloise is almost 8 months old and the time is flying by. Luckily, she is an itty bitty peanut and not growing up too fast. Her head (aka: noodle) is enormous and we often crack up at its size....because she has a very little body attached to it.
She recently has made the best faces ever. The second photo is the face she makes if she is tickled or if she is displeased with something around her. She also makes little snorts like a dragon. I even figured out how to pinch her nose so that she does it on command. This is what I discover during these chilly winter months.
I have great ideas for photo shoots of the girls....I just need to get crackin!

Where Have We Been?

Our Anniversary
We celebrated four years on March 3rd. I cannot believe how fast time flies. I joke often and say that we spent these four years mostly pregnant and playing with babies. And it is true! What an amazing thing to think about. We are so lucky to have these two little girls that light up our lives. We went out on our anniversary and did the typical parent thing, texting the babysitter and scrolling photos of them on our iPhones instead of totally letting go and talking about non-child related things. I think that is what all parents do, no?
Girls Trip
Hooray for a girls trip to Boston! I have been busy working on SLC and wrote a full post about my wonderful trip that blog. You can click here to read all about it! You can also read about my recipes, health tips and much more!
American Lung Association Climb
We have been training hard for the stair climb at the Hartford 21 building to raise money and awareness for the American Lung Association. I first went to a climb in Stamford and Ben climbed it. The firefighters do it in full gear and I was so inspired by everyone that I decided to help form a group at my gym to make a team! That is later in the month and I cannot wait!
If you would like to make a donation in support of my climb, click here!
My First Road Race
I find it hard to believe that I have NEVER run a road race, but I haven't! I am starting small with the Shamrock Run & Walk and choosing the 2 mile run over the 5 mile run. I know I can do more than that, but I want to start very small and see how I do.
Cooties
Unfortunately, we were supposed to see the Russian National Ballet, but a lingering cold put a damper on that and I am so bummed. I love the ballet and have not been to one since at least 2003. Time to find another one to go see! Despite full health efforts, this bug just wont quit! Everyone in the house has been sick and I am ready for it to be fully gone!

New Wheels!
In Eloise news, she is days away from being three months old and is a puny ten pounds! The doctor said she is healthy and beautiful, just very petite.
She has amazingly small feet, so last night I got curious and pulled out Charlotte's hospital footprint. At three months, Eloise's foot has just caught up to Charlotte's one day old footprint! These girls are my joy every day and we are just so lucky to have them. Now that we have settled into life with two under two, I really cannot express how happy we are and how much fun these little girls are! Makes me still want one more!

Sunny Six Month Mark!

There is not too much to say other than it was a beautiful weekend of playing outside and enjoying the weather. Well, except for the instant heat that generated intense allergies for just about everyone in our house!I am officially six months pregnant and wondering where the time has gone! It feels like just yesterday I was driving Benjamin nuts taking pregnancy tests WAY too early but insisting I was, in fact, pregnant. I was getting positive tests at home even before my doctors office test came back positive, and that was only through blood work. Their "pee on a stick" tests were saying no when mine said yes! Alas, it feels like we celebrated that good news not long ago!

Pillows!

Seeing as I have an unhealthy love of throw pillows, I decided to gather some up and have Charlotte play in them! She loves anything fluffy she can bounce around in. Little did I know that she would have so much fun doing so! On these cold winter days, there is nothing more fun than a little baby photo shoot!Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of our friends and family! 2010 is greeted with excitement and hope for a number of different reasons. 2009 was Charlottes first full year and was filled with joy and pride. Having Charlotte in our lives made all of the trials and tribulations of the year seem so much lighter. We are looking forward to all of the wonders and surprises a new year brings.
This morning, a lazy, snowy weekend morning...Charlotte was in her pajamas and decided to thrill me with all of her different silly faces. These are the unplanned moments that make each day so special. May you all have special moments and a wonderful year!

Christmas 2009

What a wonderful weekend filled with various Christmas celebrations. Ben and I had so much fun shopping for Charlotte, and were most excited about the glockenspiel we bought for her...we were so tempted to give it to her every night before Christmas! Alas, we waited until the real day and she has so much fun playing it! Charlotte's favorite toys all seem to be the "musical" ones where she can make her own sounds. She didn't quite understand "presents" and how to open them yet, but she had a lot of fun romping around in the wrappings on the floor. It is amazing to watch her grow and develop as the days go on. She is walking like a pro now and babbling constantly. There is something new she does every day and we watch her in amazement. We constantly wonder how it is possible to be so adorable.
We broke down this weekend and bought a Nintendo Wii....so it is time to join the rest of the world and have one in our family...and I admit, Super Mario is addicting! Ben and I also competed in a round of golf, and I won :)
We hope everyone had an amazing Holiday!

Saturday Morning Antics

With a snowstorm pending, we have decided that we need to entertain ourselves for the duration of the weekend. Charlotte's new favorite thing (and Ben's) is "scaring" Charlotte and saying "I'm going to get you!" while she is playing. Charlotte hoots and laughs and enjoys the whole game. Not having started our day yet, I decided to capture some of these moments. She is walking everywhere and babbling all day long. She can say "la la la" when you ask her to sing and she bops along when you ask her to dance. She is always on her tippy toes...perhaps a future ballet dancer?
