Christmas 2009

What a wonderful weekend filled with various Christmas celebrations. Ben and I had so much fun shopping for Charlotte, and were most excited about the glockenspiel we bought for her...we were so tempted to give it to her every night before Christmas! Alas, we waited until the real day and she has so much fun playing it! Charlotte's favorite toys all seem to be the "musical" ones where she can make her own sounds.
She didn't quite understand "presents" and how to open them yet, but she had a lot of fun romping around in the wrappings on the floor. It is amazing to watch her grow and develop as the days go on. She is walking like a pro now and babbling constantly. There is something new she does every day and we watch her in amazement. We constantly wonder how it is possible to be so adorable.
We broke down this weekend and bought a Nintendo Wii....so it is time to join the rest of the world and have one in our family...and I admit, Super Mario is addicting! Ben and I also competed in a round of golf, and I won :)
We hope everyone had an amazing Holiday!

Saturday Morning Antics

With a snowstorm pending, we have decided that we need to entertain ourselves for the duration of the weekend. Charlotte's new favorite thing (and Ben's) is "scaring" Charlotte and saying "I'm going to get you!" while she is playing. Charlotte hoots and laughs and enjoys the whole game. Not having started our day yet, I decided to capture some of these moments. She is walking everywhere and babbling all day long. She can say "la la la" when you ask her to sing and she bops along when you ask her to dance. She is always on her tippy toes...perhaps a future ballet dancer?

Westport Fire Children's Christmas

Today we went to the firehouse for the children's holiday party. It was a lot of fun, Santa came to the children in a firetruck with all the lights on! It was a bit chilly, so we stayed inside and watched from the windows. Charlotte had a great time...she mostly enjoyed watching some children play Hungry, Hungry Hippo. She was the youngest one there and of course, everyone ate her up!

Little Red Wagon

She is starting to look like me as a baby!

The weather has been unseasonably warm these days so we are trying to take advantage of it when we can! One of Charlottes new favorite things is her Radio Flyer Wagon! It cracks me up that it is called the "Town and Country" as well. She adores being dragged all over the driveway and yard in it; the bumpier the ride the better.
We spent some nice sunny family time enjoying watching Charlotte discover her new ride. Warm November days are hard to come by! I am, however, very much looking forward to snow and the holidays!

Margot and Charlottes Little Adventure

We finally had the wonderful pleasure of meeting little Baby Margot yesterday! Claudia and I were pregnant at the same time and Margot came a few months after Charlotte. I have been admiring pictures of Margot and we finally set up a date to meet. I was a tad overzealous thinking that Mt Tom State Park was a great place to meet up, but it just turned us all into little popsicles! That is ok though, we had a fun time catching up and photographing the girls. Ben took the opportunity to come with us and go fly fishing!
I had so much fun taking her picture because she is extremely photogenic. I am quickly learning that I absolutely adore photographing babies. Perhaps a new hobby or side job? Claudia and her husband also have an amazing blog, Ferret and Hound, showing their journey of building their amazing home! Check it out to see all of their beautiful work.

The Conklins at Compo Beach

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the whole Conklin Family, Christine, Ahren and baby Aurora. They trusted my photography skills enough to take a family photo shoot..thanks guys! We had a wonderful time with the girls. Charlotte sat patiently in her stroller while we took pictures and she really enjoyed herself. The perfect end to the beach visit was playing on the swings and the whale!
